FAQ

Inverter FAQ

What is an inverter (VFD)?
An inverter or VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) varies the frequency and voltage supplied to an AC motor to control its speed, torque and starting. It saves energy, removes inrush current and extends machine life.
Which AXION drives work on single-phase 220V?
Every series offers 220V single-phase input models (G2 drives 3-phase 220V motors; G1 in AX600/AX900 drives 3-phase 380V motors) — e.g. AX150 0.75 kW, AX300 up to 11 kW, AX650 up to 4 kW and AX980 IP65 up to 4 kW.
How do I size an inverter?
Check the motor nameplate: power (kW/HP), voltage and rated current (A). Choose a drive whose output current is at least the motor current, and step up one size for heavy or frequent-start loads. Try the drive finder above or send us a photo of the nameplate.
Do inverters really save energy?
For pumps and fans, power varies with the cube of speed (affinity laws): running at 80% speed draws roughly 51% of full power — a large saving versus throttling a valve at full speed.
Do you repair inverters?
Yes — diagnostics, repair and AXION replacement for failed or obsolete drives. See inverter repair service.
How do I order AXION inverters?
Pick the model and rating on a product page, add it to the cart and submit. Our sales team will confirm price, stock and delivery — or email contact@axiondrive-th.com
